The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) is pleased to announce that the Accountability at a Glance and Transition Readiness documents have been updated following the February 7, Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) meeting. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is collaborating with the United States Education Department (USED) and other shareholders to finalize components of the new accountability system. These documents are not finalized and are still considered draft.
The Accountability at a Glance document includes which indicators are proposed to be used to identify Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) and Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools for the 2017-18 school year. Other indicators will be reported and modeled in the new accountability system. The Transition Readiness document has been updated to reflect the separation of reading and writing at the elementary and middle school levels, and the approved measures for academic and career readiness have been updated for high school.
Further negotiations with USED are underway. The new accountability system will be finalized when negotiations with USED and the regulatory process for 703 KAR 5:270 are complete.
